You are OK!

by
This was the answer that George W. Bush gave to chinese leader, Hu Jintao, after a protest held by Wang Wenyi in the beginning of the "communist" mandarin speach, who was visiting The USA last week. Wang screamed, in english and chinese: "President Hu, your days are numbered. President Bush, stop them from persecuting Falun Gong!". After Wang's protest, Bush said to his mate: "You are OK", and the demonstrator was taken out from The White House by security guards. The North American secret service opened a lawsuit against the activist charging with "disorderly conduct" and can prosecute her for "intimidating a foreign official".

This is the latest chapter of a pursuit against Falun Gong held by the Chinese government. Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a Chinese philosophy mix of meditation and marcial exercises. Falun Dafa suceeded in uniting more than 100 million adepts on a relative short time. A true fright to the red mandarins, who for a long time got used to have any kind of civil organization under their rigid control.

The repression against Falun Dafa intensified on April 25th of 1999, when over 10,000 practicers gathered peacefully in Beijing, in front of the central headquarters of the Chinese government, Zhongnanhai, to practice their thoughtful exercises. The protest happened because the state violence against Falun Dafa's adepts increased systematically. This demonstration was the biggest one in China since the Tiananmen Square Massacre, in 1989. The power demonstration shaked the Chinese state burocracy, feeling his absolute power threaten. The answer to this was fast and brutal: "In the night of July 19th, 1999, the police raided homes of hundreds of practicersn sending them to prision. On the next day, Falun Dafa was oficially declared illegal in China. From that moment on a massive campaign of the government was formed to destroy Falun Dafa."

Since then, as the Falun Dafa site tells, thousands of its members are being tortured, dozens of millions of books were confiscated and destroyed, up to 20,000 people were sent to camps of forced labor and more than 390 died on the police custody, due to tortures and bad-treatment; many others are "disappeared". The complaisance of Bush's government face to this barbarism makes sense if we take into account that the Chinese government, besides his economic importance, is one of the main alliances of the North American government on his war against terrorism. To Falun Dafa remains only the solidarity and pression made by the international civil society.

So does this give Falun Gong licence to fabricate half-truth and promote their political agenda thru inaccurate but emotionally satisfying propaganda?

If we in the West can not be precise with our facts, only resort to nefarious indictment, why should the Chinese take what we say seriousely?

FYI Dr. Wang is the lead researcher for Epoch Times NY's conveniently timed "Sujiatun Auschwitz" allegation that has since being discredited:

Given Dr. Wang's profession as a pathologist, and New York's recent string of grisly illegal cadaver organ harvesting cases, it's not hard to see how she put two and two together and rehashed the 1970's era anti-communist tall tale of people sentenced to vivisection.
